Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions new clients have. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • I am an in-network provider for Premera and Lifewise. If you are covered by another insurance plan, please call them to check your out-of-network mental health benefits and confirm coverage for associate (LMHCA) clinicians. If you have out-of-network coverage, I am happy to provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Some clients receive up 50-80% reimbursement for out-of-network mental health counseling.

  • My practice is fully online. I provide virtual therapy for clients in Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver, Bellevue, Everett, Renton, Kent, and surrounding areas. No matter where you are in Washington, you can access professional counseling from the comfort of your home.

  • You’ll need a secure wifi connection, a private space, a video-enabled device, and possibly headphones. Most clients attend online therapy sessions from their laptop or smart-phone.

  • If you're paying out of pocket without any insurance benefit, my standard fee ranges between $140-165 per session.

For clients who cannot afford my standard fee, I hold a limited number of reduced-fee slots. Please contact me to discuss.

  • The letters after my name, LMHCA, stand for Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. This means that I’ve completed my graduate training in mental health counseling and am currently working under supervision as I complete the required hours for full licensure. It’s a step toward becoming a fully licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), and I am qualified to provide counseling services while still receiving guidance from an experienced supervisor. My supervisor is Pascale Wright, LMHC, holds advanced certifications in trauma-focused narrative story-work and is on the The Allender Center teaching team.

  • I find that meeting on a weekly basis, at the same day and time, helps establish a consistent rhythm that supports the therapeutic process. Regular weekly sessions allow us to build momentum, create a sense of continuity, and make steady progress. Of course, we can discuss what works best for your schedule, but this structure tends to provide the most benefit for most clients.

  • The short answer is, it depends. The length of therapy really depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people find that a brief period of therapy is enough to address a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work to explore deeper patterns or make more significant changes. I tend to work with clients on a longer-term basis, as this allows us to really dive into the root of what’s going on and create lasting change. Therapy isn’t a quick fix, and meaningful progress often takes time, but we can go at a pace that feels right for you.

  • I offer compassionate care to clients from all walks of life, honoring the diversity of religious and cultural backgrounds. My training includes both clinical and theological perspectives, which allows me to support clients who wish to incorporate their Christian faith into the healing process. My lived experience within the Christian faith allows me to relate with clients who share this experience. If you desire to explore how your faith intersects with your emotional and psychological well-being, I am happy to integrate that into our work together.

  • I understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans change. However, since it is difficult to fill a missed appointment on short notice, I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice. This allows me time to offer the spot to someone else. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full session fee. Exceptions may be made in cases of emergencies.
